Ger Cloudt is Software Quality Manager at ASML in Veldhoven, The Netherlands, and acts as lecturer and coach for the EngD – Software Technology and EngD – Automotive and Mechatronics Design programs at the Eindhoven University of Technology. Also, he is trainer at the High Tech Institute for two Software Quality courses. Additionally he runs his own company in selling his book “What is Software Quality?” and speaking about and training in software quality.
Ger lives together with his family, two cats and dog in the south of the Netherlands, in a small village called Maasbracht. He is also a certified Dance Sports Adjudicator in the Standard and Latin disciplines at the NADB (Nederlandse Algemene Danssport Bond) and working as a volunteer at the NADB Academy.
Ger started his career as a digital electronics engineer, designing digital circuitry and programming in assembler. A few years later he made a switch to software development at Philips. Late nineties Ger became a software group lead at Philips Medical Systems. He continued his career in several technical software management positions at Philips, NXP and Bosch. Early 2023 he accepted a new challenge as Software Quality Manager at ASML.
During his years of experience Ger developed his view on and about software quality, which he encapsulated in his book “What is Software Quality?” and of which he speaks about whenever invited.
